Romans 14:8 ”If we live, it’s to honor the Lord. And if we die, it’s to honor the Lord. So whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.”
“Not my will, but yours be done” is the test of submission. When we have this mindset, our captivated heart has begun to savour the words of Jesus: “My food is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work’ (John 4:34).
Regardless of the difficulty of the assignment, or the fleshly impulse to compromise, procrastinate and relax, a heart sold out to God knows the path to joy is paved by obeying divine sovereignty. A heart sold out to God knows that when God calls there’s but one reply, “May it be done to me according to your word,” (Luke 1:38).
We pray that our children will come to know and experience God’s goodness, wisdom, and faithfulness, so that they are sold out for God and more ready to say yes to Him, no matter how He leads.
