“Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain”. This psalmist is telling us how important it is that we invite and acknowledge God in whatever we do. He is bringing to our minds that we need God in our lives. He wants us to know that if God is not with us, everything we do is in vain.
As mothers, if we are training our children and we do not build in them the values of God, we may end up making mistakes. Proverb 22:6 says, ‘Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.’ In building their lives, let’s encourage them to love God, abide in God, and involve God in every stage of their life, so that they will stand firm.
As children of God and mothers, let’s know that if the Lord does not watch over our children, we watch in vain. We may not always be with the kids always, but once we hand them over to God, we believe they are covered and the eyes of God are always with them. All we need is to always pray for our children and hand them completely over to God, depending and trusting that God will watch over them.
We pray that God will watch over us and our children, that all our efforts concerning our children will never be in vain. God should cover, protect, and defend our children in Jesus’ name. Amen.”
