God cares about our spiritual life and our physical health. He created our human body and he is pleased when we enjoy health and vigour. However, we are in a world that has been polluted by man’s doing and so our bodies endure sickness and pain that may have arisen from our own fault, or, for reasons we may not understand.
God promises us in Exodus 23:25 that he will take sickness away from amongst us – his people. The Bible says we are healed by the stripes of our Lord Jesus Christ (1 Peter 2:24). The Gospels overflow with stories of Jesus who went about healing every kind of sickness and disease.
God is still working to heal sicknesses that defy medical knowledge. The Bible says if the son of man sets us free, we are free indeed (John 8:36). Today, we claim divine freedom for our children. We declare our children are free from sicknesses, diseases, infirmities and every affliction that tries to exalt its name above God’s promises in their lives.
