Colossians 3:5
”So put to death the sinful, earthly things lurking within you. Have nothing to do with sexual immorality, impurity, lust, and evil desires. Don’t be greedy, for a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world..”
New Life in Christ – When we became saved, we were given a new life by our Lord Jesus Christ. Old things were passed away, all things became new (2 Corinthians 5:17). Our sinful nature was replaced by a new Christ-like nature. We have been crucified with Christ and it is no longer we who live, but Christ living in us. How important therefore it is to seek those things which are above, where Christ is seated in heavenly places.
As christians, we make choices daily to either submit to our old sinful nature or live as unto the Lord. We make these choices by our actions and the paths we choose to follow. We can either choose to live our lives in carnality or walk in God’s spirit and truth.
Today we pray that our children will choose to live godly in Christ Jesus, putting away the old sinful nature, which is idolatry, We pray that that our children will keep being reminded that we are being prepared for our heavenly home and that when Christ appears, we may also appear with Him in glory.
