Deuteronomy 4:40 states, “Therefore, you shall keep his statutes and his commandments, which I command you today, that it may go well with you and with your children after you, and that you may prolong your days in the land that the Lord your God is giving you for all time.”
The Lord has given us His commands, and by keeping these commandments, we will be at peace with God and man. The commandments God has placed before us, if kept, will enable us to please God, keep His laws, and also make us stay in Godly peace with our fellow humans.
By keeping these commandments, the Lord has promised that it will go well not just with us but with our generations even after us. If we teach our children and direct them to obey the commandments of God, it will also make them have a peaceful life. God’s commandments bring joy to our hearts, peace to our minds, and genuine love between neighbours.
God again has promised us that we will have prolonged life. God always keeps His promises. We have nothing to lose by obeying God’s commandments, rather we will gain a lot physically, spiritually, and otherwise. Let us encourage ourselves and our children to love and obey God’s commandments.
We pray that our children will love God, keep His commandments, live a life that pleases God, and all the blessings of God will remain with them. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
